In Royal, the number of mid-bosses that can be affected by a status condition is increased.

Mid-bosses usually can't be affected by status and cannot be negotiated upon at all, despite it is possible to initiate a hold-up on them.

It is possible to initiate a hold up with Goro Akechi (During Shido's Palace) or Lavenza by downing them, although they will refuse all negotiation attempts.

If a weakness is hit on a major boss and there are no other targets that are not downed or untargetable enemy objects, the game will automatically enter Hold Up phase, although it will usually soft-lock due to no hold-up dialogue presented to them.

Bless or Curse affinities do not affect Expel or Death immunities on bosses even if a boss is weak to Bless/Curse, Expel or Death skills are automatically blocked.
